We’re looking for a Sous Chef to support our culinary leadership team at our private athletic member club offering café-style dining, lounge service, and in-house banquets. This is a hands-on role for an experienced kitchen leader who enjoys working on the line, leading a team, and delivering consistent, quality food for members and events. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Actively participating in daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Assisting with menu development and executing seasonal, member focused offerings.
  • Leading food production and execution for banquets and private events, coordinating seamlessly with culinary and service teams.
  • Helping manage food costs through portion control, waste reduction, inventory management.
  • Training, mentoring, and supporting the kitchen team, contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Stepping in for the Executive Chef as needed to maintain smooth operations and high-quality standards.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, process development, and member experience enhancements.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of culinary leadership experience (Sous Chef or similar role in casual preferred)
  • Experience in both casual and upscale settings, including café, lounge, and banquet service
  • Strong cooking skills with an eye for detail and consistency
  • Solid understanding of food costing, inventory, and kitchen organization
  • A team-first mindset with clear communication and leadership skills
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food Safe Level One certification (required)

Physical aspects of this role include but are not limited to constant standing and walking throughout the shift, along with frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 30 lbs. Additionally, occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting may be necessary.
