Andy Willigar grew up playing his minor hockey in Central Alberta, following his minor hockey career, he went on to the AJHL where he played for the Lloydminster Bobcats. Andy then played collegiately in the ACAC with the Concordia Thunder and the NAIT OOKS, winning the league championship in his final season at NAIT. After college Andy spent five seasons playing professionally in the SPHL with the Columbus Cottonmouths and the Huntsville Havoc, winning a championship in his final year with Huntsville.
Following his professional career, Andy transitioned into a development role at the Edge school located in Calgary. In this capacity, Andy led programs both in the gym and on the ice, catering to youth, junior, college, and professional athletes. His primary focus centred on defence, a constantly evolving and dynamic position.
Today, Andy brings this experience to his role as an assistant coach with the NSWC U11 A1 team. Andy’s passion for the game, combined with his extensive playing and coaching background, give him the opportunity to help make an impact on the next generation of hockey players.
