Position Summary:
The North Shore Winter Club (“NSWC”) is looking for a hands-on Food & Beverage Manager & Executive Chef to lead our casual dining, lounge, and banquet operations. This role requires active involvement in kitchen and service execution while overseeing food and beverage service, ensuring an exceptional member experience. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with expertise in menu development, kitchen management, cost control, and employee training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be actively involved in all kitchen and service areas, ensuring quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Create and execute menus for café-style dining, lounge offerings, and banquets, incorporating seasonal and member-preferred options.
- Work with the Bar Manager to develop and maintain a curated beverage program, including wine, spirits, and cocktails.
- Oversee food and beverage operations, managing budgets, food costs, and vendor relations to maintain profitability. Enhance portion control, waste reduction, and cost-effective purchasing strategies.
- Hire, train, and mentor kitchen and service teams, fostering a positive, collaborative environment. Supervise the Bar Manager to ensure seamless beverage operations and innovation.
- Work with Events & Social Marketing Coordinator to plan and execute private functions and club events, ensuring seamless coordination between culinary and service teams.
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and operational excellence in compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 5+ years of leadership experience in an executive chef and/or food & beverage management role.
- Hands-on approach with experience in casual and upscale dining, including café, lounge, and banquet operations.
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on menu creativity, food costing, and quality execution.
- Knowledge of beverage operations, including wine pairings, cocktails, and inventory management, with the ability to oversee and support the Bar Manager.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food Safe Level One certification, required
Physical aspects of this role include but are not limited to constant standing and walking throughout the shift, along with frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 30 lbs. Additionally, occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting may be necessary.
